Video #004 – Working with Layers

Experience Level Three: Working efficiently with layers is one of the things that makes Photoshop such an amazing tool. If you’re old enough to remember encyclopedias think back to the pages about the human body. Remember all those clear plastic lay-overs; each one detailing a different “layer” of the body. One layer showed the veins, another the muscles, another the skeleton.

Now imagine being able to magically erase just part of the “muscle layer” so you could see the “skeletal layer” underneath. That’s the magic of layers in Photoshop. Here’s where it gets interesting – you can do some crazy stuff when you learn layers.

Video #005 – Whitening Teeth

Experience Level Two: So many high school seniors today use whitening products on their teeth it’s a rare instance when you see a kid with bad teeth. And when you do it’s like, “Wow dude – I can help you with that.” In your head you say that – not to the client! I’ve used several different methods over the years and this down and dirty quick tip is by far the easiest.

Video #006 – Creating a Logo Brush

Experience Level Two: You are going to love this one. If you already own the Complete High School Senior Portrait Photographer Toolkit you have a written guide on how to create your own logo brush. If you don’t own the Toolkit (you should) or if you’ve struggled with the written directions; this video’s gonna tan your hide. You MUST be signing your images – all artists sign their work. And it is one of the easiest and least expensive ways to market your business. Imagine hundreds and hundreds of little wallet photos floating around the city with your name on the front. Need I say more?

Video #007 – The Magic Liquefy Tool

Experience Level Three: I’ve always felt the Magic Liquefy tool was Adobe’s way of creating controversy. The sub-title to this video is “How Anyone Can Look Like Dolly Parton.” In other words, the liquefy tool allows you to do virtual “tummy tucks” and “boob jobs” – and at a fraction of the cost. And yes ladies – before you call me a chauvinist pig – I use it on guys with “love handles” as well;-)

Our clients want to look their very best in their images. And believe me, if you make a senior look trim(er) where they’re not – they’re gonna love you for it. *Please use discretion when applying the liquefy tool.

Learning how to use the patch tool properly will turbocharge your retouching speed.  Add To Cart

Video #009 – Cropping and Composition

Experience Level One: The days of labs only offering 8 x 10′s and 5 x 7′s are long gone. While certainly these standard sizes are still the norm – nearly anything goes with respect to print size and aspect ratio. This short video explains how to use the Photoshop crop tool and touches briefly on final composition of your images. Add To Cart
