Founder of “The Portrait Expert” website, Dave is dedicated to helping beginner, advanced amateur and aspiring pro photographers hone their senior portrait skills and create thriving photography careers.
With the help of his wife Kate, Dave established d. holmes meir photography in 1994 in Rochester, Minnesota. Later re-named d. holmes meir studios the operation quickly grew to become one of the premiere high school senior portrait studios in Minnesota.
Over the years they’ve completed an impressive tally of portrait sessions including more than 1800 high school seniors, hundreds of babies, literally thousands of youth sports athletes, dozens of families and more attorneys than anyone would care to count.
In the early years they photographed anything that moved but have since refined their marketing and product mix to concentrate solely on high school seniors, babies and families. Team sports and occasional headshot work fills their busy calendar. Dave still photographs attorneys – but only at exorbitant rates – as it should be.
